Abstract Photographer Research
I was looking up some artists that were abstract for inspiration/to see what the pros do. One of the favorite I came across were Tony Sweet. He uses nature photographs for almost all of his abstractions. He creates beautiful tones through the pictures. He also uses a lot of long exposures, which I love. He creates more of a flowing feeling through the nature with creates a smooth natural feeling. He plays with a lot of depth of field a lot and it makes for very interesting photography.

I think that I loved his abstract photography because it was different to me. He plays with shutter speed and aperture which I haven't seen as much with abstractions. He seems very skilled technically, knowing his camera very well.

Summer Photography.
Something I've found that always happens to me, is I always get really inspired at the end of August. I went through a dry spell for inspiration in July, but I got my mojo back in August. I got to go on vacation with some of best friends/ best models so I was able to get lots of pictures.
Grounds for Sculpture.
Some of the shots I got there, edited some of them to be more abstract. I loved on statue in particular, and the others are all of Kendall.

My 52 project.
This week is my 39th week of my 52 week project. I started it last January and have taken a picture every week since. I post them every Monday on my flickr, http://www.flickr.com/photos/betsey_suchanic_photography/
It's kept me shooting and having to think of new ideas. I'm pretty proud of how the project has come out. I've learned so much from it, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to focus on photography. Some of the pictures from the summer I took for the project are these...

Older Still lifes.
All the still lifes that we were shooting inspired me to go back into my files and find some of my older ones.
Sooome more recent work.
I thought I would try my hand at some portraits that really incorporated the background. I think I'll retake this with someone else as the model because that would give me much more of a chance to mess around with the zoom, focus, and lighting a lot more.
I've recently discovered the mirror tool in Adobe Elements and have spent a ton of time with it.
Layered pictures, I really like the way this turned out.
I was trying different views for portraits and something about fingers have always struck me.
This a two piece series I decided, (Both the picture above and below.) I layered two picture for each pictures for each of them but I think the represent being open and closed.
